Avocations part 2 ….

Here’s like a photo gallery of some of my works. I was not planning to do this but Anshika said I should so here it is.

I like to draw and doodle. Many of my inspirations come from Pinterest and youtube and stuff. I really appreciate one artist, Zainab Khan, she also has a youtube channel called ‘ Pic Candle‘. Drawing keeps my mind busy and is something I can do forever.

I’m not so good with art and painting stuff but I try, they do interest me a lot. Not long ago did I start actual painting, which can be addressed as one and not scribbling a page with paint brushes; lol.

I like crafting a lot. Back in 7th grade when I began, I would come back from school everyday, have lunch, sit at my little folding table and make something out of paper. Crafts astonished me with their creativeness and beauty. I love the idea of making something with my own hand for my friends on their birthdays. Too cute they are… I did not include all my crafts but here are most of them…

I love to sing and people say I have a soft kinda voice, well they haven’t heard me shout at the top of my lungs I’d say (whisper:ask my family and friends, hehe). I also know how to play the keyboard a little. Now look these videos down here 😂 I shot them myself with one hand and played the keyboard with the other, so they are a little fuzzy and I messed up, sorry about that.

Ishq wala love…
Main phir bhi tumko chahunga…
Kaun tujhe…
Shape of you… I messed up at the end

A list of some anime’s I relish :

Here are some more doodles. Because I wanted to add them.

So that’s it. I hope you liked them. Thank you for stopping by. Lots of love and virtual hugs.

Avocations ….

Make time for yourself ….

Things that refresh your mind, creative sense and abilities. To me they are like an escape route from the real world which make me forget all about my worries and miseries. They occupy me during latent time and make the present enjoyable.

It’s rather important to nip some time out of your monotonous day and indulge yourself in a task that makes your mind fresh and active. Something you do for your own mental or physical relief. Whats better than hobbies for this? And they act as a major stress buster because you enjoy doing it and it satisfies the soul. You’ll lack that spark and excitement in your life if you don’t annex one into your crazy life, It’d be like food without salt.

Personally I have many hobbies and I just can not pick one of them as an all time favourite. Some of them: Since an early age I loved to colour in colouring books and draw on the walls, not like I got away with that; lol. I gradually developed a liking to draw, doodle and paint. I always loved to sing, dance and listen to music, music is a real hard passion of mine and in middle school I finally made my shy ass sing in actual competitions in front of real people. Actually in middle school I was introduced to a lot of different things and I’m just stuck with them now, but I love being stuck with them, I took a knack for reading through our library periods at school. Books make me feel safe, it’s as if I’m around books nothing can go wrong. I started playing basketball and was even in the school team. Well anshika is a hot skilled player as well and we had a great summer with lots of tanning. I started exploring the internet back then when like the era of diy had begun I loved to craft different things, looking at a finished piece makes me so so happy. I love collecting rings, as in accessories and keyrings. Lastly my brother introduced me to the world of anime. It’s literally a whole different sphere. I enjoyed watching them and truly have learned so much from them. Now one hobby that I want to include to my lifestyle is gardening. I adore plants but I don’t quite have a place and resources to set up an actual area just for them, I still have a life ahead of me and changes are welcome. Well can food be addressed as a hobby?!

Sad birds still sing ….

Happy is the man who can make living his hobby.

Career Tension ….

How do I explain this feeling. I can’t go back. Nor can I move on ….

Being a teenager I am often shoved in with the fact that I’m growing up and need to endeavour my plans on vicinity of the future. I am expected to have a perfect lifestyle by my parents. You know what I mean and mostly every person’s folks would fancy that. But sometimes when you just can not discern the climate of your mind ,it can be hellish stressful.

Personally I have not yet decided what I see myself working on and about in the future. And it scares me to the last strand of hair on my body that how can they ask it so casually. It’s not like I’m sitting in a restaurant with an exquisite menu in my hand and am asked to choose want I wish to eat. No. No. No. It’s probably something that I’d end up doing all my life. Offcourse none can interpret the end but you are supposed to live on ,right? If I’m already perplexed, can say have no dreams than how can I just pick the correct option. Like ok I don’t know the answer of this multiple choice question so …one …two … three…four…hmmm let me choose option 3 because it seems relevant and has one fourth a probability of being accurate anyways.

That’s not even the worst part you know why because once in their whole life an indian child has to be asked if he wants to be a doctor or an engineer. Literally the career options in the minds of Indian people are like set on default mode at doctor and engineer. No one even wants to see the world beyond that, lol! Whilst if you want to take other activities like sports, arts, music, acting and all kinds of stuff as a career than most people are not supported by their families because according to them there is no future in those kind of things, too much competition you see. Oh yeah, and what about like those 50 thousand doctors and 10 lakh engineers that graduate from collages every year and much fewer people get any jobs. Many students themselves are afraid to pursue career paths different than those related to studies because since childhood they are fed that you’ll end up nowhere like that and thus are afraid of failure.

Me and my friend Anshika have faced choosing a career quite challenging. Sometimes I literally feel like I’m useless and letdown everyone. Especially when relatives come home and enquire about what I want to be, me sitting in a corner with a poker face saying I haven’t decided yet while there kids plan to be scientists and lawyers and what not. It’s awesome if they know what they need to focus upon but leave me alone for goodness sake. I’m not like them and I don’t want to be like anyone because I am my own person.

I’m just going on every day on the path of an unknown destination. It makes me anxious it really does. I wrote all of this to take some load off of my mind because people won’t judge me here for being awkward and careless and clumsy and lost. If you read till here then thanks a lot for listening to my nonsense 😊 it means a lot. Love you.

So what does your path to career success look like ???
But I know I can not stop either ….

Pandemic taking away more than lives …

I have been busy dealing with a lot lately, with couple of drafts left to finish , but somehow I just can’t do it .

At the start of lockdown I felt “okay think positive , you have got so much time at home , all’s gonna be alright.” Well it was going great for a while but then my grandpa passed away ( he was not infected with corona) . That was just 5 days before my 16 th birthday .

Well he was not well for almost an year ,but still he wasn’t that bad , he was much better than last summer. The thing that crushed us was ,we all were at our homes , no office or school to hinder us but he lived in other state so we couldn’t even attend his last rites, I couldn’t see him for the last time and that regret is gonna follow me ,my whole life .

It was then that I realised that this pandemic was taking much more than lives . It is taking away those important moments from lives of thousands. In fact after grandpa’s death , the caretaker told that he was pretty fine a week or two ago but his condition deteriorated with the commencement of lockdown . It was like those walks he took in the park in evening , the continuous interactions with neighbours , the hustle and bustle of regular life , the normality of daily life had kept my 87 year old grandpa alive . And suddenly when he was deprived of this normality , he felt agiated and left the world.

This post doesn’t mean that lockdown in not positive or bad , in fact I wrote it again as a reminder , showing the pains of this cruel time . It is affecting all , it is torturing feelings and mind without even infecting . The only way to defeat it as soon as possible is to follow the rules as strictly as possible .

Now that I know what chaos has the pandemic plunged the world into , not only death by infection but the captured mind , mental health , fear and seperation , I don’t want others to go through the horrified feelings as I did ….. I want all of it to end as soon as possible , the only way being even more cautious ….

Judge Me Not ….

“As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same”

~Nelson Mandela
Save……me……..

How many of you hold back from being your true self because you fear judgment? I also pass by that bridge once in a while. It’s not a fun place to be. People can be cruel, bitter, and down right nasty. Which makes it very difficult to want to come out of your shell

“Our deepest fear is not that we’re inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?! You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.”

YOU are an amazing and beautiful human. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. Don’t let social media, opinions of family, friends, ANYONE, hold you back from letting your light shine. They are not you so they can not understand your outlook of life.

Well me and my comrade Anshika occasionally feel isolated because of the fear of judgement from our parents. So I want to mention that, we might not be able to change them now, we can always keep trying but just don’t get anxious if you can’t. We can change the mind of a person who has not seen much in life ,like a child, who has yet to learn so much … that’s easy but a grown up has had their life experiences and they have a different perspective to life which we can not understand because we are not at the stage they are at. Also our and our parents’s minds only match upto about 50% according to psychology. And the rest 50 is what we learn from our surroundings, trust me 50 is not such small a value. Don’t feel isolated if you think they can not understand you or you can not understand them. It’s fine.

People showcase their own insecurities and inferiority complex by poking a finger out at someone and they don’t realise that three are pointing back at them. It’s just wrong to judge people. Everyone has their own story. What you see is incomplete reality. Instead of dooming faults in others, make time to correct your own.

Your value does not decrease based in someone’s inability to see your worth. It’s easy to judge. More difficult to understand. Understanding requires compassion, patience and willingness to believe that good hearts sometimes choose poor methods. Through judging we seperate, through understanding we grow.Be proud of who you are and not ashamed of how someone else sees you.

It was not meant to be easy …..

Your Journey, Not Theirs

This was an awesome post by saania, I truly resonate with her ideas and would like to share with our readers too.

“Comparison is the thief of joy”- Teddy Roosevelt

I have discoveredthat there is an infinite number of things and people upon which we can potentially compare ourselves to. And with how flooded we are by social media nowadays, it’s easier than ever to habitually find someone who seems to be living a “better” life than us, which only serves to make us feel miserable about ourselves. You have probably, at some point, felt the animosity boil in your blood, and your fists clenching by the envy surging up your brain. But the truth is, we have all been there! Unfortunately, once we drive down the road of jealousy, there is never an end.

Jealousy definitely plays a deadly role of stealing the joy from our lives, since we are continually tapering off our self-confidence in thinking that someone is better than us. But some times, we compare ourselves against inaccurate…

Questions from ceridwensilverhart

 1. How do you like your eggs? If you’re allergic or don’t like eggs, what style of egg most repulses you ?

Anshika : So I am a pure vegetarian person , so I don’t eat eggs at all .( I don’t like the smell too though !)

Sakshi : Ok so I’m a vegetarian too but due to health conditions I was imposed to eat boiled eggs once when I was 13 but I could not continue to eat it because I really did not like the stench. Eggs and all kinds of meat are loved all around the world but I just can not affiliate with them because I never showed interest in them since childhood.

2.What is your opinion of squirrels?

The puzzle of procrastination ….

Do you deal with the sin of sloth ???

Should
Would
Could
DID.

Procrastination is a challenge that humans have always faced . Struggling, delaying, avoiding and offering excuses on issues that matter is an old habit. It is a state where you act against your better judgement and then find yourself trapped.

Almost every person has experienced the thought of getting back in shape , when you decide that ‘From tomorrow I’m on a diet and I’ll excercise regularly untill I loose those extra 5 kilos’ ,but three days later you find yourself drooling over pizza and don’t even realise when you took a bite because you’d think one bite won’t make any difference would it? Have you delayed calling your best friend for days on end for no good reason ? Have you caught yourself staring at the dust gathering on the fan for weeks and not do anything about it ? Have you wanted to quit alcohol for months but there’s no coming of that one last shot? Have you wanted to wake up at 7am in the morning but slept for just 15 more minutes? Have you kept postponing an important assignment for days untill the deadline is just above your head ?If yes then you have dealt with procrastination.

Procrastination loves tomorrow , it makes you realise that tomorrow is the best day ever and it will throw plenty of reasons at you to show you why tomorrow is the ideal time! Without any notice it makes you lazy and that causes underperformance and dawdling. You’ll hate discipline and never follow rules.

People spoil their careers, relationships, and their health because of procrastination and it only causes self-hatred, regret and guilt.

The past is of course, irredeemable. But, our future lies ahead of us. Gearing up to beat our laziness by making it a point to stick to our schedules, following a disciplined routine and remaining focused on our goals to achieve what we want to is the way to fight procrastination. Some ways to deal with it are :-

• Make an enemy list : What distracts you?

• Oh … What am I doing? : When you get distracted remind yourself why you started, dedicate your time to one particular task untill you finish it.

• Become a visionary : Be a person who sees the connection between their present and future. Discern the difference it’d make of when you get distracted and when you do not. Ask yourself where you see yourself a year from today and are you putting efforts in the right direction?

• Just one more try! : The next time you are tired and want to postpone that final push ask yourself ‘Can I try one more time? – YES’, ‘Will I get this opportunity again? – NO’

Have patience. It takes time to make a change so keep on trying, it’s not impossible. Consistency is the key.

Do it now
Sometime later
Becomes NEVER…

The Rich Man’s Wives ….

It’s not easy to find oneself . But I believe in you. You can do it dear ….

I came cross a story while reading the book ‘ The Monkey Theory ‘ and it really made me think and ponder about life. I just wanted to share it with you. The story stresses the value of good emotions, good memories, good karma and good thought processes. It talks about how these are the only things that matter. Everything else is temporary. But the unfortunate truth is that what’s most important is the most ignored too! Now let’s begin …..

In ancient times, it was very common for men to have more than one wife. An old man, who had four wives, lay on his deathbed. Knowing he was going to die soon, he called his fourth wife, whom he loved very much, to his bedside. For many years, he had indulged this wife the most. He had got her the best jewellery, the most expensive clothes and had given her the best of everything. He loved her, she loved him and they were always together.

He called her and asked, I want you to accompany me after I die. Will you come with me?

She replied, ‘What?! What are you saying? I love you very much, but I can’t come with you. I am sorry.

His heart broke. He couldn’t believe her words. He thought to himself. ‘I gave her the best of everything, but she ditched me in the end!

In grief and despair he sent word to his third wife. She was second in his affections and he had done a great deal for her too.

‘I want you to accompany me after I die. Will you come with me?” he asked.

She replied, ‘How can you expect that I can’t come along and in any case, I have decided that after you die, I…I am…going to marry someone else! Sorry!

This shocked him again. He had given her considerable attention, had indulged her and yet here she was, betraying him in his hour of need.

Now, he sent word to his second wife and asked her the same question. He had shared all personal matters with her and she was very close to him. To his dismay, she too gave him a similar reply. She said she could come with him up to the cemetery, but not beyond.

Finally, the man’s last hope was his first wife. He had always misbehaved with her, had never given her any importance, or valued her and hadn’t done anything special for her. He had always taken her for granted. She had always been his last priority. He felt ashamed and guilty to even ask her to accompany him. But he did so anyway.

Guiltily, he asked her, I am almost dying and leaving this world. I don’t want to go alone. Will you accompany me?

She said, ‘Of course, I will come with you, my dear. I will be there with you forever.

Tears welled up in the old man’s eyes. He couldn’t believe how much she cared for him.

He said, ‘ My dear. I have always ignored you. You looked poor and miserable in front of the other three. I never realised that it was only you who loved me truly and selflessly. I wish I had taken more care of you.’

This beautiful analogy of the four wives was explained thus by Lord Buddha:

Every person has four wives/husbands.

• The fourth wife symbolises our body and its cravings. We work on our body and its beauty and do almost everything to keep it beautiful, but it leaves us the moment we die!

• The third wife symbolises our material wealth (money, property, jewellery etc.), that will go to someone else after we die

• The second wife symbolises our relationships that can’t accompany us beyond the grave.

• The first wife symbolises our mind, deeds and actions. Always with us, but remains unnoticed. It is the most important one, but is ignored and something that one often realises only towards the end of one’s life.

Now, the question that struck me was, ‘If the mind is so important, why don’t we spend time with it? Why don’t we nourish and develop it? Most of us find it really difficult to handle the mind. We find it difficult to handle our own emotions. Sometimes, our own emotions make our life miserable. I am sure this happens to all of us. The mind can be our best friend or our worst foe. A lot depends on how we handle it!

You’re beautiful ….

Doggos are pawfect …

There are no expectations or compromises , just love ….

A bond as pure as the pearls in the sea is what we boast with our pets ….

You don’t even realise how those innocent beings enter your life and make it sparkle and colourful with the simple element of endless love and empathy. How in the saddest and darkest moments of your life you just look at them and know that they are there , they won’t leave your side. They don’t judge you for being clumy, gawky, dramatic, sensitive, inept or melancholy. There aren’t many people who admire you for being yourself but they, obligate nothing more than you. They are the only beings on earth who’ll love you more than you do to yourself.

Even I was blessed with a beautiful soul , a dog and I can not with a combination of the 26 alphabets depict what he means to me . The naughty nature , little mishaps and out of the box love, fill up my treasure chest with sweet and charming memories.

Always so full of energy , just rumbling all around the house and offers the most inviting and balmy welcome. I love to train him and he loves to learn new tricks and show them off. We snuggle and embrace each other’s presence. I feel safer when he is around me as if he’s my gaurdian angel .

He has alleviated me in so many ways when even I could not help myself , whenever I’m anxious or downcast his furry little self urges me to play with him and I always forget my miseries. He keeps me fit and well . He is one reasons my heart loves to beat for. When my soul was juggling around for answers he illuminated my path and taught me how to just live in the moment. He makes my life worthy. Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring–it was peace.
